21st Starting Grid, 7th Finish in Race 1 of R3 bLU cRU European Cup in Assen, Wahyu Nugroho 8th Standing Point

The rider from Boyolali, Central Java showed his special struggle in the first race of the 2nd series of the R3 bLU cRU European Cup 2022 competition at Assen Circuit, Netherlands, Saturday (23 April 2022). Starting from the back row at the 21st position, but he could consistently fight until the finish flag was raised and he finished in 7^th position.

An achievement that should be appreciated for a rookie or newcomer. A spirit that doesn't give up until the race is over. In connection with the initial race, Wahyu Nugroho immediately tried to suppress the speed of his Yamaha YZF-R3 until he was in 15th position on the first lap.

Then he continued to struggle and pushed up to 14th position and continued to 13th in the 2nd and 3rd laps. On the 7th lap out of a total of 10 laps he had to do, he was in the 9th row and in the end he finished in 7th place. The competition was very tight because it tested the skills of riders with the same motor specifications.

However, during the 2nd race, Wahyu Nugroho, who is 19 years old and carries the bLU cRU Yamaha Racing Indonesia team, did not get lucky. He crashed on lap 4 and corner 5 and he was unable to continue the race. Even though when the 3rd lap, Wahyu Nugroho, who used the start number #89, was already in 3rd position.

"I thank God, everything went smoothly even though it was not as expected, but I am still grateful and in the future hopefully I can do better. I was too motivated because in race 1 I thought it was a little difficult to join the top group, but in race 2 in just a few laps I was able to immediately join the top group. Because I was in too much of a hurry, I opened the gas too quickly at turn 4, but unfortunately my rear tire slipped and fell but everything is fine. In the name of God, I want to keep fighting and can reach the podium in every next series,” said Wahyu Nugroho.

Finally, Wahyu Nugroho is in 8th position with the acquisition of 30 points in standing points from 2 rounds of R3 bLU cRU that have been held.

The potential for improving the rankings is still very open due to the relatively slightly point gap. Besides, there are still 5 rounds that have not been held. The race is still long. Hopefully the future I will be better. The 3rd series will be held in Misano, Italy on 10-11 June 2022.
