After Jerez, High Motivations for Galang to Add Points at Portimao Series
The all-out struggle carried out by Galang Hendra Pratama took place in the race 2 of the WorldSSP racing competition at the Jerez Circuit, Spain, Sunday (26 September 2021). WorldSSP Jerez only lasted one race after the race 1 on Saturday (25 September 2021) was not held, due to the death of WorldSSP300 rider, Dean Berta Vinales (Vinales Racing Team) after the WorldSSP300 race 1 incident.
Galang Hendra Pratama who defended the Ten Kate Racing Yamaha team started the race from the 24th starting grid after he crashed in the Superpole round. The rider from Yogyakarta was doubted to race in Race 2 due to unfit, but then he was declared Fit to be able to take part in Race 2.
During the 2nd and 3rd laps, Galang Hendra Pratama was already in 19th and 20th positions. There is a significant improvement. Then on 4th to 10th laps he was in 20th and 21st positions. The Yamaha Racing Indonesia’s fostered rider crashed at turn 6 on 11th lap. He had rejoined to continue the Superpole session but this did not last long because his condition was not optimal after the crash so he returned to the pits.
Galang Hendra Pratama who rode the Yamaha YZF-R6 did not get additional points at Jerez. He is currently in 18th position in the WorldSSP standing points with 24 points.
The 11th WorldSSP continued series will be held at Portimao Circuit, Portugal (1-3 October 2021). This will be a strong motivation for Galang Hendra Pratama to add some points.
“I had a good start but at the beginning of the race I had to avoid a crash of another driver, so I lost some positions. Then I tried to get back to the front and was able to ride the pace of the top fifteen guys, until I lost the front in Turn 6 because I lost grip on the front wheel. We will try to re-analyze what really happened. Overall it was a tough weekend, especially with the very sad passing of Dean Berta Vinales,” said Galang Hendra Pertama.
We ask for the Indonesian people to support and pray for Galang Hendra Pratama to be able to perform better in the next rounds. Moreover, he can improve his position in the WorldSSP standings.
