The 3rd day of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp activity in Italy began with Aldi Satya Mahendra undergoing Full Track Training activities centered at the VR46 Motor Ranch, Tavullia.
This activity was carried out by the Yamaha Indonesia coached rider since the morning at 09.30 until noon at 12.00 of Italian time.
The five Yamaha VR46 Master Camp riders did flat track training with highly experienced instructor Marco Belli who won flat track championships in various countries. In addition, during this time they have been the coach of the VR46 Riders Academy riders who compete in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 racing.
Flat track training has a very important goal because it relates to the ability to control the bike. In this case, how the technique of adjusting the gas throttle opening and closing moments when entering and exiting corners, also braking points and riding style regulates the balance when the motorbike moves on the ground.
What was interesting and quality in this session was that MotoGP rider Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) was involved in flat track training with Aldi Satya Mahendra and other Yamaha VR46 Master Camp riders (Passkon Sanluang, Worapot Thongdonmaun, Md AliffDanial Bin Muhammad Asri and Maike Abe).
Even Bezzecchi, who is currently the best rookie in MotoGP 2022 and uses the starting number #72, provides an example first when riding a Yamaha YZF250 bike.
“Flat track training was carried out for 15 minutes with a combination of oval-shaped circuits and full tracks,” explained Aldi Satya Mahendra.
After the flat track training, it was followed by a lunch session at Osteria, Tavullia. Then they resumed their MotoGP e-sport activities from 14.00 to 15.30. Playing this MotoGP video game serves to train the concentration and consistency of the riders in every handicap per lap. So the slightest mistake should not happen because it will be left behind by the opponent.
Even more special, the 15-year-old Aldi Satya Mahendra Rider from Yogyakarta became the best when the e-Sport MotoGP racing competition was held among the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp students, ahead of Worapot Thongdonmaun from Thailand and Maike Abe from Japan who were respectively in the 2nd and 3rd.
“For the past three days I have had discussions with Franco Morbidelli, Marco Bezzecchi and Marco Belli. After going through these activities, the lesson I got was that I could take a positive side in terms of theory and practice that had been done. I also got 1st place medal for e-Sport class. Furthermore, I have also practiced on flat track using a YZF250 motorbike and I did independent exercises on flat track with a time of 15 minutes on the oval and full track circuits,” said Aldi Satya Mahendra.
In the afternoon, Motocross Training was held at VR46 Motor Ranch, from 15.45 - 18.30. Many lessons were learned, including increasing physical stamina. After a day of training, the five riders who were trained in the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp returned to the Hotel Europa Monetti at 18.45 to rest.
